CubeTube is designed as an installation / urban furniture / pavilion / interactive wall and its functions contrasted by itself. Other contrast is its form and parts that are made of circular forms that make up into a square basis. Also, there is a contrast in between the dimensions of the tubes, and also between the parts that are on the ground and those that float in the air. CubeTube can represent as a gathering place for hanging out with other people because it has a seating place, but also shows the importance of recycling, demonstrates the possibilities of creative use of cardboard tubes, resulted from mass production of advertising posters and the fact that art doesn’t need to be expensive.
The aim of the workshop was to create this installation and to design some parts of it together. The project was made entirely of cardboard tubes of different dimensions treated with protective solutions against moisture and fire. Tubes are connected with adhesive and are attached with screws with bolts that are hidden in sections where needed. Group decided in the end to put some plants in some of the tubes so the installation can talk about importance of planting as well.
